Astaak at Abbecombec

Astaak at Abbecombec

Today’s vocabulary words:

Awakening – coming into existence or awareness.
Requiescence – a state of rest or repose; peace, quiet.

Astaak is the native name for the point on which I built my home. It means “the sun comes out.” It overlooks Abbecombec, which is the native word for a wide curving bay and also the name of the village below my home along whose beaches I stroll almost daily.

This is the photographic record of my day at my home in Nova Scotia on July 13, 2017. Making it was both an awakening of my own and a coming to a place of requiescence with my current lot in life. I hope it serves my viewers in some similar uplifting manner.

I won’t tell you where it is, but I would love to have visitors to share it with. I welcome your comments and questions and messages. Peace.

This is my first attempt at doing a live voice over of a completely extemporaneous narration as I watched the images unfold on my screen. I hope it adds something to the vicarious experience of visiting this magical place to hear my thoughts as I relive the moments I captured the photographs.
